FEP Belts for Industry

In a fast-paced and demanding world industrial conveyor belts for food, textiles and hygiene products need to be efficient, hygienic and durable. Among the various materials used for these essential tools, PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) stands out due to its unique properties. At Holscot Advanced Polymers Ltd, we have been pioneering the use of melt processable fluoropolymers like FEP & PFA (derivatives of PTFE) since 1970, leveraging their capabilities to provide industrial solutions to applications, including food processing.

What is Heat Shrink Tubing / Sleeving?

Fluoropolymer heat shrink tubing & sleeving is a versatile and essential component used across various industries that need resistance to temperature, chemical, solvents and UV light.  At Holscot Advanced Polymers Ltd, we understand the importance of high-quality materials and finding the right solution, which is why we offer a range of heat shrink tubing & sleeving options to meet your needs.

Chemical Resistance of Fluoropolymers

Fluoropolymers like FEP PFA & ETFE manufactured by Holscot are essentially inert which is to say they show little or no reactivity toward almost all commonly encountered substances.  This property is one of the most important resulting in products manufactured from FEP PFA or ETFE ideal for contact with almost all chemicals from pure water through to especially toxic materials.

What is PFA Tubing?

You casually browse the rows at a hardware store or the categories of an online retailer, searching for a tubing solution that best suits your application. All of a sudden you came across PFA.

Fluoropolymers and the Automotive Industry

The automotive industry is one of the most important and largest industries in the world. It employs millions of people, and its products are used all over the globe.

PTFE 101

PTFE is a synthetic polymer that has been used to create non-stick coatings for cookware, and as an additive in some pharmaceuticals.

FEP belts help to produce smooth wooden flooring

In the manufacture of natural wooden flooring, the inevitable knotholes and cavities need to be filled and the surface of the wooden flooring needs to be smooth.  Manufacturers overcome this by the application of UV filler putty which penetrates the cavities.

What is ETFE Tubing? Meaning, Benefits, and Application

ETFE tubing is a product used in a large variety of industries, from the medical to construction and even aerospace. The material is a copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene (TFE).

Self-Fitting Shatterproof Sleeves

Many companies offer a coating service for free issue lamps. This means that local companies can send their lamps to a company for covering but that customers who are further afield or who have significant quantities of lamp covers might not be able to have their needs met.

Space Propulsion Tanks – Bladders and Diaphragms

In the modern Space Industry, there is a growing demand for demisability (items that will completely disintegrate upon re-entry). Our solution to this is to use the Fluoropolymer, FEP.

What’s the Difference Between Teflon™ and PTFE

The simple answer is that they are the same thing: Teflon™ is a brand name for PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and is a trademark brand name used by the Du Pont company and its subsidiary companies (Kinetic which first registered the trademark & Chemours which currently owns it).

Flange Guards – Types, Material and Benefits

Flange guards are protective devices that cover pipe flanges to prevent the leakage of materials. Fluoropolymer flange guards, because they are chemically inert, are often used where toxic or corrosive liquids or acids are being used.

FEP material – Meaning, Benefits, and Application

FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) is a Fluoropolymer with some extremely useful properties which make it unique in the industrial world.

What are Fluoropolymers?

Simply put, Fluoropolymers are a group of plastics that contain carbon & fluorine. These are grouped together because the addition of fluorine gives them a number of properties that are valuable from an industrial and commercial perspective.

What is PTFE? Pros and Cons of PTFE Coating?

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a Fluoropolymer that has a large number of industrial applications because of its many properties. One brand name for PTFE is Teflon®, which is well-known for its non-stick and heat-resistant properties.

What is Heat Shrink Tubing? How to Find reliable manufacturers?

Heat shrink tubing is plastic tubing that can be heated and shrunk to cover and protect other elements. Holscot uses heat shrink tubing to create heat shrinkable sleeves in PFA and FEP which provide non-stick surfaces to rollers, bars & rods.

What goes around, comes around

Back in the early 1990’s, Holscot was contracted by what was then Allied Colloids to manufacture cauldrons for the production of flocculating gel (Sodium Polyacrelate) used in hygiene absorbent pads such as nappies.

The Advantages of Using Teflon™ Coatings

There are a number of advantages of using Teflon™ coatings. Teflon™ is the best known brand of a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene called Polytetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications.
