Holscot ETFE Tubing

ETFE Tubing & Custom Extrusions

Holscot produces high-quality ETFE tubing and custom extrusions for specialist applications where flexibility, radiation resistance, and mechanical durability are essential. Using our in-house extrusion lines, we manufacture ETFE tubing to order, precisely tailored to customer requirements.

ETFE is often specified when standard fluoropolymer tubing (such as FEP or PFA) does not offer sufficient flexibility or impact resistance. Our ETFE solutions are particularly valued in breathing apparatus, offshore umbilicals, and other applications requiring reliable performance under dynamic or rugged conditions.

Custom-engineered from the Start

Holscot manufactures ETFE tubing in a wide range of diameters and thicknesses, with options for custom colours, cut lengths, and etched surfaces. Unlike more widely used fluoropolymers, ETFE is almost always made to order, giving you the flexibility to define performance criteria from the outset.

Available options include:

  • Outer Diameter: -3mm to +400mm
  • Wall Thickness: 0.1mm to +3mm
  • Cut-to-length or continuous coil formats
  • Coloured or natural grades (via masterbatch)
  • Etched surfaces for bonding or overmoulding
  • Custom tolerances on request

Each order is extruded under rigorous quality control to ensure dimensional accuracy, consistent performance, and compatibility with downstream forming or assembly operations.

Why Choose ETFE?

ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) is a tough, semi-crystalline fluoropolymer known for its exceptional mechanical strength, radiation resistance, and outstanding flexibility, even in thick-walled sections.

Key benefits of Holscot ETFE tubing:

  • Temperature resistance: up to +150°C
  • Excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, and solvents
  • High mechanical toughness, superior impact and tear resistance
  • Greater flexibility than FEP or PFA, resists kinking when bent
  • High radiation resistance, suitable for nuclear and medical environments
  • Exceptional UV transmission, stable under prolonged UV exposure
  • Non-stick, low friction surface
  • Electrical insulation and dielectric stability

These characteristics make ETFE the material of choice for flexible conduits, dynamic hoses, sensor protection, and chemically aggressive environments where movement or mechanical stress is expected.

Beyond Tubing: Integrated ETFE Solutions

In addition to free-standing tubing, Holscot can form, weld, and integrate ETFE tubing into assemblies. Our ETFE capabilities include:

  • Welding and forming of custom ETFE linings & bags
  • Heat-formed components
  • Extrusion directly onto substrates including glass, rubber, silicone, Viton, aluminium, and steel

These services enable integration of ETFE into broader systems, reducing assembly time, improving chemical resistance, and simplifying design.

Proven in Critical Applications

Holscot ETFE tubing is relied on in industries such as:

  • Aerospace and defence
  • Nuclear and medical
  • Offshore energy
  • Breathing systems and life support
  • Instrumentation and chemical delivery lines

Whether you require a lightweight umbilical or robust conduit resistant to chemical attack and flex fatigue, Holscot brings decades of fluoropolymer expertise to every project.
